Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:
Badger Area Adventure Tourism Lodge (Reg. 1790)
Proponent: Bear Paw Adventures and Tours

The proponent proposes to operate an adventure tourism business that will serve ATV, snowmobilers, big and small game hunters and fly fishers from a site half a kilometre east of Badger, on the north shore of the Exploits River. The project will require the construction of an accommodations lodge, a storage shed and a parking lot that will be accessed via an upgrade as well as an extension of an existing road. All proposed construction on the 10.2 hectare site will be set back approximately 120 metres from the river shoreline. Construction is planned to start in May 2015 and end by August 2015 with operations to begin in the fall of 2015.

The undertaking was registered on April 16, 2015; the deadline for public comments is May 22, 2015; and the minister�s decision is due by May 30, 2015.
