The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.
AMENDMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT SUBMITTED:
Wabush 3 Open Pit Mine Project (Reg. 1711)
Proponent: Iron Ore Company of Canada
The proponent has submitted an Amendment to the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) that was submitted on August 8, 2014.
The Amendment is now subject to public and government review as required under the Environmental Protection Act. The EIS, with the Amendment, is intended to address the information requirements contained in the EIS Guidelines that were issued to the proponent on April 3, 2014 and the requirements in the minister�s decision of December 23, 2014 on the EIS. The EIS, including the Amendment, can be viewed on the department�s website at: www.env.gov.nl.ca/env/env_assessment/projects/Y2013/1711/index.html or by requesting a copy from the Environmental Assessment Committee Chair at the number listed below.
Written comments must be received by April 22, 2015. Please send to:
