Green Rock EVS and Electric Vehicles

Funding provided by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador will be used to aid with the supply and installation of five residential and 14 commercial electric vehicle charging stations in Newfoundland and Labrador including:

The electric vehicle charging units will be available for use by the public at no cost for at least three years following their installation.

There are currently 18 electric vehicles and 50 electric vehicle stations in the province.

Electric vehicles have many advantages to offer in addition to helping reduce greenhouse gases. Electric vehicles typically cost about five to seven times less to operate and maintain compared to an equivalent combustion engine vehicle. This means more money stays in the owner's pockets.

Electric vehicles also make little noise and have a very high satisfaction rate among owners. No required fluid or oil changes means less waste and time spent at the garage.

Green Rock EVS has developed three programs regarding the use of electric vehicles in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador:

  • Charging Station Infrastructure Discount
  • Residential Charging Station Discount
  • Commercial Private and Public Charging Station Discount
