Investments Support Community and Economic Development

Tender for Trinity North and Bellevue to Improve Transportation Infrastructure

Asphalt leveling, bridge rehabilitation, and resurfacing in the districts of Trinity North and Bellevue are some of the improvements that will be made in the 2014 road construction season. Announced today by the Honourable Nick McGrath, Minister of Transportation and Works, each of the initiatives will be a part of a road work tender that will be issued in the coming days.

“Over the last several weeks, the Provincial Government has issued and awarded tenders for a variety of initiatives designed to improve the experience of travelling provincial roads, highways, and bridges. The sum of these initiatives benefit residential and commercial traffic as strengthened transportation infrastructure is a focal point for strong communities and economies.”

In Trinity North, approximately 2.8 kilometres of Route 204 from Queen’s Cove towards Long Beach will be resurfaced. Other miscellaneous road work will occur in the area this construction season.

“The Provincial Government continues to make strategic investments in much needed transportation infrastructure in Trinity North. This will benefit residents in our region and the many tourists who enjoy the scenery and hospitality in our great district.”
