Public Advisory: Temporary Air Services for Fogo Island and Change Islands

The Department of Transportation and Works wishes to advise that the MV Captain Earl Winsor, which serves Fogo Island and Change Islands, has experienced a rudder issue and is currently out of service.

Temporary air service will commence tomorrow (Wednesday, March 19) with fixed-wing service between Fogo Island and Gander and a helicopter service between Farewell and Change Islands scheduled as follows:

Fixed-Wing Air Service for Fogo Island
Gander: 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Fogo Island: 8:15 a.m. 9:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 3:45 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

Helicopter for Change Islands
Farewell: 8:30 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Change Islands: 9:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 2:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.

The fare for travelling on the aircrafts will remain the same as it was for travelling on the ferry, but travellers must pay with cash.
