Public Advisory: Temporary Ferry Reassignment for Ramea, Grey River, Burgeo

The Department of Transportation and Works advises that the MV Gallipoli will depart Ramea early this coming week for Bell Island to provide contingency service while the MV Flanders comes out for refit. It is anticipated that this refit period will be up to eight weeks.

Contingency service for the Ramea, Grey River, Burgeo run will be provided by the MV Sound of Islay, which will depart for Ramea over this weekend, as weather permits, to relieve the Gallipoli. The Gallipoli will return to Ramea following the Flanders refit period.

The MV Sound of Islay is designated as a swing vessel and is tasked to provide relief capacity ensuring continued marine service during planned refit periods and other interruptions in service.
