Media Advisory: Minister to Attend Safari Club International Convention
The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, will attend the 2014 Safari Club International Convention and Trade Show, Ultimate Hunters Market, taking place in Las Vegas, February 5-8. The Minister will be accompanied by representatives from the province’s outfitting industry, and the province will also host a booth at the event.
Safari Club International is dedicated to the protection of hunters' rights and the promotion of wildlife conservation. The organization partnered with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador on the five-year, $15 million Caribou Strategy announced in 2008 to help understand and mitigate the current decline in woodland caribou numbers and the role of predators in this decline.
