Social Housing Investments Benefit Families in Labrador
$237,000 Investment Supports Social Housing Upgrades in Labrador
Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation has awarded two contracts, valued at total of $237,000, for upgrades at two social housing homes in the Labrador region.

Green's Construction Ltd. has been awarded a $112,000 contract to provide exterior and interior renovations on a unit on Main Road, Cartwright, while Cross Fox Construction Ltd. has been awarded a $124,000 contract to provide similar renovations on a unit on Padden Place, Northwest River.
Work on the unit in Cartwright will include siding, window, door and roofing replacements, a conversion from oil to electric heat, interior painting, new flooring and bathroom fixtures, bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans, and a heat recovery ventilation (HRV) unit. The work in Northwest River will include siding, window, door and roofing replacements, along with extensive interior renovations and miscellaneous upgrades. The anticipated completion date for both projects is May 2015.
In 2014-15, Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation is investing $10 million to renovate 450 social housing units throughout the province.
