Automotive Heritage Month Activities Working for Communities and Families

Automotive Heritage Month Proclaimed in Newfoundland and Labrador

The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Service NL, has proclaimed July as the National Association of Automobile Clubs of Canada (NAACC) Automotive Heritage Month in Newfoundland and Labrador.

“The NAACC and its members play a vital role in supporting automotive hobbies and work with many charities and community groups in Newfoundland and Labrador, and across Canada. Antique automotive hobbyists are passionate about restoring antique and classic cars and this enthusiasm has direct financial and cultural benefits for business, employment and charities both locally and nationally. I congratulate all members of the NAACC on their celebration of the preservation of classic and antique automobiles.”
- The Honourable Dan Crummell, Minister of Service NL

Throughout the month of July, automotive enthusiasts will coordinate a wide variety of events and displays on behalf of the NAACC, many of which will be fundraising initiatives for charities.

The NAACC has donated proceeds from annual car shows and fundraisers to various health care facilities and organizations since 1980 including Easter Seals, the VOCM Cares Foundation, the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre, Western Regional Memorial Hospital and other health care facilities located throughout the province.

“We are pleased to work with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in proclaiming July as Automotive Heritage Month. The automobile hobby is very generous to many charitable organizations in the province and strives to preserve our automotive heritage for future generations to come."
- Bob Ford, Director and Membership Chairman of NAACC in NL

The NAACC is a federally incorporated, non-profit organization of Canadian automobile clubs. For more information on the NAACC visit www.naacc.ca EXTERNAL.
