Public Advisory: Vital Statistics Division and Government Service Centre Relocating

Two offices of Service NL, the Vital Statistics Division and the Government Service Centre, both located at 5 Mews Place, St. John’s, will relocate to the Motor Registration Building at 149 Smallwood Drive in Mount Pearl effective Monday, April 14.

Both divisions will close as per usual at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11, and will reopen at their new location on Monday, April 14, at 8:30 a.m.

The Vital Statistics Division registers all vital events – births, adoptions, marriages and deaths – and provides certificates regarding most of these life events to the public.

The Government Service Centre provides licences, permits, inspections, design plan reviews and certificates for a variety of businesses and individuals, including:

• Food establishments
• Electrical/mechanical contractors
• Asphalt plants
• Land/building developments
• Electrical installations
• Septic systems and wells
• Waste management
• Fuel storage systems
• Small game/angling licences
• Abattoirs
• Swimming pools
• Highway signage
