Families and Businesses Can Defend against Fraud

Consumer Awareness Is the Best Safeguard against Fraud

March is nationally recognized as Fraud Prevention Month in Canada, which raises awareness of the dangers of all types of fraud and equips Canadians with important knowledge for safeguarding against it.

“Fraud can take many forms, from investment fraud and Ponzi scemes to credit card fraud and other forms of identity theft. To ensure the well-being of our families and communities, the best defence against fraud is to know how to spot the warning signs and report all scams to policing agencies, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, or the Financial Services Regulation Division of Service NL.”
