Media Advisory: Minister to Announce Winners of Forestry Poster Contest
The Honourable Derrick Dalley, Minister of Natural Resources and Minister Responsible for the Forestry and Agrifoods Agency, will be in Lewisporte on Monday, September 22, to announce the winners of a provincial forestry poster contest held as part of National Forest Week celebrations. The event will take place 10:30 a.m. at Lewisporte Academy, 107 Main Street, Lewisporte. The Minister will be joined by Wade Verge, MHA for Lewisporte.
Every year, Grade 5 students throughout the province are invited to participate in the poster contest. This year’s theme is Only YOU can prevent Wildfires. The winners are located in all forestry regions of the province and will have their artwork featured in the 2015 forestry calendar produced by the Department of Natural Resources.
