Public Advisory: Aerial Vegetation Management Program Completed Near Clam Pond

The Department of Natural Resources advises that 130 hectares of forest plantation was treated with the herbicide Forza today (Tuesday, August 26) to control competing vegetation in the Clam Pond Resource Road area of Forest Management District 16. The treatment was part of the department’s 2014 Aerial Vegetation Management Program which has now concluded.

The herbicide Forza has been evaluated by Health Canada for its impact on human health and wildlife and has been deemed to be safe when applied in accordance with established guidelines.

Signage has been posted on roads leading to the treated area advising the public of the herbicide application.
