Public Advisory: Motorists Warned to be Aware of Caribou in St. Anthony Area

The Departments of Natural Resources and Environment and Conservation are issuing a warning to travellers in the area between St. Anthony Airport and Eddies Cove (Route 430) on the Northern Peninsula.

Officials have indicated there are significant numbers of caribou in this area due to current snow conditions and the potential for encounters with motor vehicles is of a concern.

Motorists are asked to be extra vigilant, particularly at night, when travelling along this stretch of highway.
