Supporting a Vibrant Energy Economy

Newfoundland and Labrador’s Renewable Potential Touted at National Summit

Energy leaders from across Canada met in Toronto last week at the Canadian Energy Innovation Summit to discuss partnership development opportunities for the country’s wealth of clean energy resources.

“These meetings were positive and I had the opportunity to highlight the tremendous renewable potential in Newfoundland and Labrador, including the development of Muskrat Falls. It was a pleasure to work together with my colleagues to identify opportunities that will help to strengthen and grow the provincial, regional and national energy landscape.”
- The Honourable Derrick Dalley, Minister of Natural Resources and Minister Responsible for the Forestry and Agrifoods Agency

The Canadian Energy Summit was designed to bring together national, provincial, business and policy leaders from the energy and innovation sectors to collaborate and build economic development strategies for Canada’s clean energy technologies. Topics for discussion included the development of a Canadian Energy Strategy, energy innovation and clean energy technologies and tapping into international markets.

Through sound fiscal management and responsible decisions, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is strengthening the business environment, encouraging the development of innovative industries and building a vibrant economy.
