Provincial Government Investment Enhances Fire Services in the District of Bellevue
The Provincial Government is investing $71,000 to improve firefighting capabilities for communities in the District of Bellevue.
“This funding will provide firefighting equipment for eight communities in the region. Public safety is a top priority for government, and we are committed to supporting volunteer firefighters throughout the province.”

Funding will be used to purchase Personal Protective Equipment, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatuses, communications equipment, and two pumps.
“The equipment recently announced will enhance safety and communication capabilities for fire departments throughout the region. I would like to thank the Minister and the Provincial Government for making this commitment.”

The equipment for each community will be cost-shared, with the Provincial Government providing 90 per cent, and communities covering the remaining 10 per cent. Detailed information on these investments is contained in the backgrounder below.
Budget 2014: Shared Prosperity, Fair Society, Balanced Outlook includes $5 million in fire vehicle and equipment funding.
