Supporting Fire Services
Government Delivers Investment of $57,000 for Fire Services in the District of Trinity - Bay De Verde
The Provincial Government is investing over $57,000 to enhance firefighting capabilities in the District of Trinity - Bay De Verde. The funding will be used for the purchase of firefighting equipment for communities throughout the area.
“With an investment of $57,000 for the purchase of fire safety and communication equipment in the District of Trinity - Bay De Verde, the Provincial Government is supporting the ongoing work of fire volunteers who serve and protect residents. The funding will be used to purchase a paging system for Hant’s Harbour, two sets of Self Contained Breathing Apparatuses for Green’s Harbour and Winterton and two sets of Personal Protective Equipment for Old Perlican, Whiteway and Bay de Verde.
The equipment for each community will be cost-shared, with the Provincial Government providing 90 per cent and communities covering the remaining 10 per cent. Detailed information on these investments is contained in the backgrounder below.
Budget 2014: Shared Prosperity, Fair Society, Balanced Outlook includes $5 million in fire vehicle and equipment funding.
