Responsible Investments in Communities
$1.4 Million Announced for Capital Works Projects in Trinity - Bay de Verde
The Provincial Government is committed to improving infrastructure in areas throughout the province. Recognizing this, approximately $1.4 million will be invested to fund water and sewer projects cost-shared with various communities in the District of Trinity - Bay de Verde.

This $1.4 million investment will provide the support required to complete a number of projects in the Trinity - Bay de Verde region. Responsible investments in municipal and regional projects such as these strengthen communities, enabling them to meet the needs of families.”

Funding for these projects is cost-shared, with the Provincial Government providing 90 per cent and the local communities covering their 10 per cent share.
The following is a breakdown of the $1.4 million investment:
- $500,000, Small Point-Adam’s Cove-Blackhead-Broad Cove to expand the water drinking system;
- $400,000, Salmon Cove for the extension of water and sewer along the main road;
- $350,000, Hant’s Harbour to improve the sewage system;
- $75,000, Grates Cove for improvements to the water system;
- $50,000, Heart’s Delight-Islington to conduct a sewer study of the North East Side Road area; and
- $35,000, New Chelsea-Melbourne-Brownsdale-Sibley’s Cove-Lead Cove for a new water intake line.
