Making Responsible Investments for Families and Communities
$300,000 Invested in Capital Works Project for North River
The Provincial Government continues to support the development of infrastructure to benefit the residents of rural Newfoundland and Labrador. The Town of North River will receive an investment of $300,000, cost-shared with the Provincial Government, to improve drainage along various local roads. The announcement was made today by the Honourable Steve Kent, Minister of Municipal and Intergovernmental Affairs, and Glenn Littlejohn, MHA for Port de Grave.
“With the intense weather patterns in recent years, having proper
drainage is essential to towns throughout the province. Through this
$300,000 commitment, we will work with the Town of North River to complete
some much needed water upgrades which will provide better services to
residents and families in the community.”

In North River, $300,000 is being committed for improved drainage on three separate local roads.

North River. This will enhance the drainage system within the community and
lessen potential flooding during times of heavy precipitation.”

Since 2008, the Provincial Government has invested $650 million in more than 1,200 water, wastewater, recreational and municipal infrastructure projects.
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is committed to supporting important social programs, strong communities and the health and well-being of children, families and seniors.
