Whitbourne Benefits From $524,000 Investment in Water Project
Ensuring clean and safe drinking water is a top priority for the Provincial Government, and $524,000 has been committed for a water project cost-shared with the Town of Whitbourne. The announcement was made today by the Honourable Steve Kent, Minister of Municipal and Intergovernmental Affairs, and Felix Collins, MHA for Placentia - St. Mary’s.

In Whitbourne, $524,000 is being committed for the replacement of a cast iron water main.

Since 2008, Municipal and Intergovernmental Affairs has committed over $50 million for 72 drinking water projects in Newfoundland and Labrador. The total investment in these projects, including municipal and federal funding, is over $114 million.
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is committed to supporting important social programs, strong communities and the health and well-being of children, families and seniors.
