Recognizing a Strong Corrections Service
Justice Staff Presented with Commissioning Certificates, Corrections Exemplary Service Medals and 30-Year Service Bars
The Honourable Darin King, Minister of Justice, is congratulating 24 individuals from the Adult Corrections and Adult Probation Divisions who received recognition for their contribution to the field of corrections in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Honourable Frank F. Fagan, Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, presented Commissioning Certificates, Corrections Exemplary Service Medals and 30-year service bars at a ceremony yesterday at The Rooms.
“We have an exceptional group of individuals working in corrections in
Newfoundland and Labrador. Those who received recognition are great role models
for their colleagues as they provide a valuable service in an often challenging
environment. I congratulate everyone who was presented with a Commissioning
Certificate, a Corrections Exemplary Service Medal or a 30-year service bar, and
I thank them for their work on behalf of residents of the province.”

The Corrections Exemplary Service Medal was created on June 11, 1984, and recognizes employees of the correctional services throughout Canada who have served in an exemplary manner, characterized by good conduct, industry and efficiency. Recipients must have been working on or after the date of creation of the medal, and must have completed 20 years of full-time service, not necessarily continuous, with one or more of the correctional services in Canada.
