Strategic Investment Strengthens Business Environment
Stephenville Airport Corporation Receives Nearly $100,000 to Support Business Growth
To strengthen the Stephenville Airport Corporation’s ability to attract
new business, the Provincial Government and the Atlantic Canada
Opportunities Agency (ACOA) are providing a total of $99,000 to assist the
corporation in its ability to implement a three-year strategic business
plan.
“This $99,000 joint investment will assist the Stephenville
Airport Corporation in moving forward with their business development goals.
I am confident that as they progress and implement the objectives of their
strategic plan, their accomplishments will help the corporation attract new
business to the airport and the surrounding community. Our investment in the
Stephenville Airport Corporation furthers the Provincial Government’s
continued support for the entire Stephenville region which encourages
long-term prosperity and enhances the region’s economy.”

The Provincial Government and ACOA are each providing $49,500 to the
Stephenville Airport Corporation, while the corporation is providing an
additional $11,000 to the project. Funding will assist with the costs
associated with implementing the corporation’s strategic plan and long-term
business investment and attraction activities. Currently there are a broad
range of industrial developments occurring in the Stephenville region that
present the corporation with the opportunity to forge new and beneficial
industrial partnerships.

Executing tactical business
activities will allow the corporation to diversify its revenue stream and
establish a viable operation with respect to air services and related

The Provincial Government is

employment opportunities for the people of the province. A significant goal
of the Department of Innovation, Business and Rural Development is to
enhance air access to, from and within Newfoundland and Labrador by
proactively promoting the province as a strategic epicentre for business.
