Media Advisory: Minister to Make Rural Broadband Funding Announcement
The Honourable Susan Sullivan, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, will announce details of the next phase of the Rural Broadband Initiative tomorrow (Wednesday, July 16). Minister Sullivan will announce the successful proponents of the most recent call for proposals under the initiative and the communities that are part of the latest broadband projects.
The announcement will take place in the Media Centre, Ground Floor, East Block, Confederation Building, at 10:30 a.m.
The Rural Broadband Initiative was launched in 2011 to provide incentives to telecommunications carriers to expand broadband access into unserved rural and remote areas of Newfoundland and Labrador.
