Strategic Investments Support a Diversified Economy

Dynamic Air Shelters Expands Operations with $561,852 Investment

To support Dynamic Air Shelters in their ability to expand operations and meet growing market demands, the Provincial Government is providing funding totalling $561,852 to the Grand Bank-based business.

The $561,852 in funding, utilized in three separate projects, will allow Dynamic Air Shelters to respond to immediate customer requests, satisfy short-term customer needs and allow the firm to demonstrate their product capabilities directly to potential customers at major events tailored to the oil and gas and industrial markets. Dynamic Air Shelters, a Newfoundland and Labrador incorporated company with manufacturing/production facilities in Grand Bank on the Burin Peninsula, manufactures promotional, industrial, first-response and blast resistant shelters.

Dynamic products have been used by the Baltimore Ravens, oil and gas companies, as well as the Canadian military. In December, the Provincial Government provided assistance to the disaster relief efforts in the Philippines with the purchase of a portable air shelter supplied by Dynamic Air Shelters.

QUICK FACTS

• In support of Dynamic Air Shelters capability to expand operations and access new markets, the Provincial Government has invested $561,852 in the Grand Bank-based operation.
• $561,852 will enable three separate projects: $466,391 will be used to construct six shelters to rent/lease to customers in industrial markets; $49,000 will be used to present the products suitability in the Middle East; $46,461 will be used to penetrate and develop new markets in the United Kingdom and the European Union.
• Dynamic began operations in the province in 2004 and currently maintains a workforce of more than 90 employees.
• The Provincial Government recently provided assistance to the disaster relief efforts in the Philippines with the purchase of a portable air shelter. The air shelter was donated to GlobalMedic to be used as a portable hospital.
