Stimulating Economic Growth Through Investment in Business Development

Business Development and Trade Initiatives Supported with $57,706 Investment

Seventeen Newfoundland and Labrador businesses are in a better position to grow their operations as a result of Provincial Government funding totalling $57,706. Made available through the Department of Innovation, Business and Rural Development’s Business Development Fund, the investment will support local businesses to explore emerging market opportunities through business to business trade shows and fairs as well as undertake market research.

“There are numerous companies operating throughout the province with very specific mandates and business plans, and it is essential they are able to connect with other professionals on the ground where they are doing business. This $57,706 investment supports business development opportunities by providing businesses with the support they require to participate in trade missions, achieve greater productivity and make lasting and profitable connections with other like-minded organizations.”
- The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development

Recent trade missions have focused on strengthening and enhancing trade partnerships through face-to-face meetings with businesses, academic institutions, potential buyers and other strategic partners. A full list of organizations receiving funding can be found in the backgrounder below.

Through sound fiscal management and responsible decisions, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is strengthening the business environment, encouraging the development of innovative industries and building a vibrant economy.
