Health Care Upgrades Benefit Families and Communities
Over $565,000 Invested in Health Care Services in Grand Bank
Residents of Grand Bank and surrounding communities are benefiting from $565,000 in Provincial Government funding for infrastructure upgrades and health care projects. The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Health and Community Services, was joined today by the Honourable Darin King, Minister of Education and MHA for Grand Bank, and Don Keats, Interim President and CEO of Eastern Health, at Blue Crest Nursing Home for the announcement.

By investing in infrastructure upgrades and health care projects for centres in Grand Bank, we are ensuring that the residents of this region have access to quality health care services and facilities.”

Blue Crest Nursing Home will see an investment of $350,000 to replace the generator for backup emergency power. An additional $15,000 will be provided to the gardening project at the home which encourages residents to become involved in gardening as a way to promote health and wellbeing.
“These important investments will ensure that these two facilities continue to be responsive to the health care needs of the residents of Grand Bank and the surrounding area. Enhancing the accessibility and quality of the health care services available to our residents remains a priority of this government as we strive to improve the health and vitality of our people and communities.”

The Grand Bank Health Centre will receive $200,000 to replace the siding on the building. The eaves and soffit will also be repaired and replaced.

Budget 2014: Shared Prosperity, Fair Society, Balanced Outlook includes an investment of $50.5 million for new equipment and $20 million for repairs and renovations.
