Investing in Health Infrastructure Benefits Families and Communities

$4.6 Million Contract Awarded for Upgrades to Hospital in St. Anthony

A $4.6 million contract has been awarded to complete upgrades and enhancements to the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony.

This work, valued at $4.6 million, will extend the longevity of this facility and upgrade areas that impact patients and visitors to the hospital.”

Pomerleau Inc. has been awarded the contract and is expected to complete the upgrades by next summer. The contract includes:

  • Upgrades to address wheelchair accessibility at the facility;
  • The installation of isolation rooms for patients with communicable diseases or who are more susceptible to infections;
  • Renovations to the exterior of the building;
  • Upgrades to security; and
  • An extension to house new electrical switchgear and emergency generators.

The Provincial Government has invested approximately $24.5 million in capital equipment, repairs and renovations at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony since 2004.
