Health Care Upgrades Benefit Families and Communities

Nearly $465,000 Invested in Health Care Services in Baie Verte

Residents of the Baie Verte region are benefiting from nearly $465,000 in funding for the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Care Centre to support facility upgrades and new equipment.

The investment includes $239,700 in new equipment - six patient beds, three geriatric chairs, waiting area chairs, communications devices used for ambulance and security, a nursing pager system, and a computed radiography reader used in diagnostic imaging.

The centre will also receive $225,000 for video surveillance equipment to enhance security and to upgrade the exterior roof.

Since 2004, the Provincial Government has invested nearly $1.5 billion in health care infrastructure. Budget 2014: Shared Prosperity, Fair Society, Balanced Outlook, includes a total investment of over $189 million in infrastructure, which includes $119 million for continuing construction and redevelopment, $50.5 million for new equipment and $20 million for repairs and renovations.
