Media Advisory: Minister to Present to Senate Committee in Gander
The Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, will present information about the provincial aquaculture industry to the Senate Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans tomorrow (Tuesday, May 27) at 8:00 a.m. at the Albatross Motel in Salon F. The presentation will be part of nationwide hearings the committee is holding to examine the regulation of aquaculture, current challenges, and future prospects for the industry in Canada.
Minister Hutchings will be joined by staff of the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture for the presentation. Additional presentations by industry representatives and various advocates with a stake in aquaculture activity are scheduled with the committee throughout the day.
