Media Advisory: Minister to Tour MV Celtic Explorer
The Honourable Keith Hutchings, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, will tour the research vessel MV Celtic Explorer tomorrow (Friday, May 23) at 10:30 a.m. The vessel will be docked at Pier 17 in St. John’s. Minister Hutchings will be joined by students from two city high schools and the Marine Institute, as well as Dr. George Rose, Director of the Centre for Fisheries Ecosystems Research, Dr. Gary Kachanoski, President and Vice-Chancellor, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and Glenn Blackwood, Vice President, Memorial University of Newfoundland (Marine Institute).
Members of the media are asked to contact Kimberley Thornhill of the Marine Institute if participating in the tour, and must be prepared to show photo identification to port authority security to board the vessel.
