Premier Announces Board Appointment

The Honourable Paul Davis, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today extended congratulations to Ken Marshall on his permanent appointment as Chair of the Board of Directors of Nalcor Energy and its subsidiary companies.

"Mr. Marshall has been an active member of the Board of Directors of Nalcor Energy and its subsidiary companies since 2004. The permanent appointment as Chair of the Board of Directors follows his role as acting chair since early this year. I look forward to his continued valuable contribution in this role and thank him for his dedicated service to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador."

The appointment was made under the authority of the Energy Corporation Act and is effective immediately.

BACKGROUNDER

Biography of Ken Marshall

Ken Marshall is President of the Atlantic Region for Rogers Communications Inc., one of Canada's largest telecommunications companies. He has been with Rogers (and formerly Cable Atlantic) for 24 years and previously worked in Montreal with the Institute of Canadian Bankers. He holds an MBA from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland (1984).

Mr. Marshall is the Chair of the Board of Directors of Nalcor Energy, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro, Muskrat Falls and subsidiary companies, and served on the Board of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council.

Being a big believer in community involvement, Ken is a long-time serving board member and past chair for Special Olympics, Newfoundland and Labrador. Also, he previously served on the Board of Regents of Memorial University of Newfoundland, as well as Chair for JUNO 2010 in St. John's. Mr. Marshall has also been named one of Atlantic Business Magazines Top 50 CEO's.

Mr. Marshall and his wife Andrea live in St. John's with their three children; Andrew, Erin and Matt.
