Responsible Investments to Enhance Communities

$1.6 Million Announced for New Municipal Building for Steady Brook

Through the work of strong town councils, communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador ‎continue to make progress on the renewal of infrastructure. To support this continued growth, the Provincial Government is announcing $1.6 million cost-shared with the Town of Steady Brook for the construction of a new municipal building.

Through this cost-shared $1.6 million investment, the town council of Steady Brook will have a modernized municipal office which will allow councillors the appropriate space to carry out the important work that they do on behalf of the people of Steady Brook.”

Funding for this project is cost-shared, with the Provincial Government providing 90 per cent and the Town of Steady Brook covering the remaining 10 per cent.

Budget 2014: Shared Prosperity, Fair Society, Balanced Outlook allocates $200 million for a three-year program for municipal infrastructure projects.
