Media Advisory: Minister to Speak at Volunteer Hall of Fame Announcement
The Honourable Steve Kent, Minister Responsible for the Office of Public Engagement, will participate in an event tomorrow (Wednesday, April 16) to announce inductees to the 2014 Newfoundland and Labrador Volunteer Hall of Fame. The event begins at 12:30 p.m. in the main boardroom, Department of Municipal and Intergovernmental Affairs, Fourth Floor, West Block, Confederation Building.
Minister Kent will be joined by the Honourable Edward Roberts, Chair of the Selection Committee, Newfoundland and Labrador Volunteer Hall of Fame.
The inductees will be honoured at a gala dinner in October where they will be formally inducted into the Newfoundland and Labrador Volunteer Hall of Fame. Launched in 2012 by the Provincial Council of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, the Newfoundland and Labrador Volunteer Hall of Fame honours the efforts of those who make long-standing volunteer contributions to their communities and the province.
