Premier Thanks Vickie Kaminski for Her Contribution to Health Care in
Newfoundland and Labrador
The Honourable Tom Marshall, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, today thanked Eastern Health President and CEO Vickie Kaminski for her outstanding service in the health care sector in this province. It was announced today that Ms. Kaminski will be stepping down as President and CEO of Eastern Health effective May 31, 2014.
“Vickie Kaminski represents the very best in quality leadership and we have been privileged to have her expertise and professionalism at the helm of the province’s largest regional health authority since 2009,” said Premier Marshall. “Ms. Kaminski came to our province at a difficult time and she has helped restore faith in our health care system, something for which we will forever be grateful. While we are certainly saddened to see her go, on behalf of the people of the province, I want to wish Ms. Kaminski all the best in her future endeavors.”
It was announced today that Ms. Kaminski has accepted the position of President and CEO of Alberta Health Services. That appointment takes effect June 1, 2014.
“Vickie’s contribution to our province’s health care system has been significant,” said the Honourable Susan Sullivan, Minister of Health and Community Services. “Vickie has brought her over 35 years of experience in the Canadian health care system to our province and was integral in restoring confidence in our health care system with her honest, straightforward style of leadership. The health care system in our province has greatly benefitted because of the positive contributions Vickie has made.”
