Marystown Native Shines at Sochi Olympics

Province Congratulates Olympic Silver Medalist Kaetlyn Osmond

Newfoundland and Labrador has a new Olympic Champion. Marystown native, Kaetlyn Osmond has won a silver medal in the Team Figure Skating competition at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

Kaetlyn is Marystown's gift to the world. Succeeding in sport on any level takes dedication and sacrifice but, to win sport's most prestigious honour and perform with such grace and assurance on the world stage is extraordinary, indeed."

Ms. Osmond skated for Team Canada in the women's free skate portions of the competition this past weekend. She scored 62.54 in her short program and 110.73 in her long program.
