Media Advisory: Minister to Address 2014 Community Summit
The Honourable Steve Kent, Minister Responsible for the Office of Public Engagement, will provide opening remarks at the 2014 Community Summit tomorrow (Friday, February 7) at the Hampton Inn & Suites in St. John’s at 9:40 a.m.
Hosted by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and connected by interactive technology from four locations – Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Corner Brook, Grand Falls-Windsor, and St. John’s – the summit will explore opportunities and identify common goals for the future, including a discussion on volunteer resource hubs, social enterprise, and a training and research plan for non-profit organizations.
Also speaking at events across the province will be:
- Keith Russell, MHA for Lake Melville, at Hotel North II in Happy Valley-Goose Bay;
- Tony Cornect, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Kevin O’Brien, Minister of Advanced Education and Skills and MHA for Port au Port, at the Pepsi Centre in Corner Brook; and,
- Clayton Forsey, MHA for Exploits and Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Terry French, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, at the Mount Peyton Hotel in Grand Falls-Windsor.
