Expansion of Green Depot Network Supports Newfoundland and Labrador’s Fastest Growing Community

New Paradise Green Depot Increases Access to Recycling

Residents, businesses and non-profit organizations in the Town of Paradise can now experience the convenience of recycling closer to home with today’s official opening of Newfoundland and Labrador’s newest Green Depot located at 1217 Kenmount Road.

Owned and operated by Scotia Recycling, the new Green Depot is one of 40 main depots and 17 sub depots licensed as part of the Multi-Materials Stewardship Board’s (MMSB) network of Green Depots in Newfoundland and Labrador. Through the depot network, MMSB operates a province-wide Used Beverage Container Recycling Program that is administered as a deposit-refund system in accordance with the Waste Management Regulations.

Materials accepted for recycling at the Paradise Green Depot include: electronic waste; used paint; used beverage containers, including products sold in aluminum, glass, plastic, steel and mixed fibre packaging; and cardboard. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is committed to supporting MMSB in fulfilling its mandate to support and promote modern waste management practices in the province as a means of helping ensure a clean and healthy environment.
