Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Joan Shea, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following event relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKINGS REGISTERED:

Botwood Highway Forage and Pasture Land Development            (Reg. 1749)
Proponent: Summit Ridge Farms

The proponent proposes to develop 160 hectares of agriculture land for forage production and pasture five kilometres northeast of the Town of Bishop’s Falls on the Trans Canada Highway. The site will be accessed by the former Botwood Highway and a planned new access to Route 350. The project is scheduled to commence May 1, 2014, upon receiving government approval.

The undertaking was registered on March 12, 2014; the deadline for public comments is April 17, 2014; and the minister’s decision is due by April 25, 2014.
