Environmental Assessment Bulletin

The Honourable Joan Shea, Minister of Environment and Conservation, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

ENVIRONMENTAL PREVIEW REPORT GUIDELINES ISSUED:

Big Triangle Pond Mineral Exploration Access Road                    (Reg. 1725)
Proponent: Eagleridge International Ltd.

The Minister has issued final Guidelines for the Environmental Preview Report (EPR) for the above undertaking. The proponent is now required to prepare the EPR and submit the document for review by the assessment committee and the public. The guidelines are available and may be accessed on the department’s website at: www.gov.nl.ca/env/env_assessment/projects/Y2013/1725/index.html or by contacting the Chair of the Assessment Committee, Paul Rideout at (709) 729-0834 or email paulrideout@gov.nl.ca.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PLAN APPROVED:

Maritime Transmission Link                    (Reg. 1618)
Proponent: NSP Maritime Link Inc.

The Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) Minimum Requirements document and the Environmental Constraints Mapping Atlas submitted October 29, 2013, have been reviewed by the Assessment Committee and found to be satisfactory. The EPP and additional information submitted complies with Part X of the Environmental Protection Act (the Act) and complies with the terms and conditions of release issued on June 20, 2013.
