Investing in Upgraded School Facilities
Roofing Project Brings Investment in Exploits Valley High to $12.8 Million
As part of a major redevelopment of Exploits Valley High in Grand Falls-Windsor, a tender valued at $295,156 has been awarded to Bluebird Investments Ltd. of Grand Falls-Windsor to replace the cafeteria roof.
“The redevelopment of Exploits Valley High has already seen the construction of a new gymnasium, and there are ongoing renovations and upgrades to classrooms and specialty rooms as well as electrical and plumbing upgrades. The entire project is expected to be completed in the coming months. This has been a major project, with a Provincial Government investment of almost $12.8 million, and I am pleased to see this latest tender awarded as part of the revitalization of this school.”

Over $21 million has been allocated for school improvements in the Grand Falls-Windsor - Buchans area since 2004, including, but not limited to:
- $12.8 million for Exploits Valley High in Grand Falls-Windsor;
- $6.2 million for Exploits Valley Intermediate in Grand Falls-Windsor; and
- $1 million for Avoca Collegiate in Badger.

Budget 2014: Shared Prosperity, Fair Society, Balanced Outlook, provides over $128 million for school infrastructure. Since 2004, over $681 million has been allocated for K-12 infrastructure, including about $236 million for over 1,900 priority repairs and maintenance projects.
