Upgrading Community School Infrastructure

Windows Project Slated for Tricon Elementary, Bay de Verde

Tricon Elementary in Bay de Verde will soon have new windows, following the recent award of a tender, valued at almost $188,000, to Coastal Building Products and Services Ltd. of Mount Pearl. With a roofing project completed at the school last year, more than $430,000 has been invested in Tricon Elementary in recent years.

“Even as we continue to build new schools, add extensions and undertake major school redevelopments throughout the province, we must also invest in ongoing upgrades to existing education infrastructure. The Tricon Elementary project is the latest in a series of ongoing repairs and maintenance projects approved as part of a $19.2 million commitment in Budget 2014. Since 2004, our government has provided thousands of students and staff throughout our province with safe, modern learning environments, investing almost $236 million in over 1,900 priority repairs and maintenance projects at schools.”
- The Honourable Darin King, Minister of Education
