Addressing School Capacity Needs

Tenders Awarded for State-of-the-Art Modular Classrooms

CAN AM Platforms & Construction Ltd. of Shearstown has been awarded two tenders, with a combined value of more than $1.1 million, for modular classrooms at seven schools on the Northeast Avalon Peninsula.

“Unprecedented housing development and an influx of young families into urban and suburban areas of the Northeast Avalon has resulted in a need to address short-term capacity issues in some schools, as planning continues to address longer-term needs where required. These modular classrooms are state-of-the-art design, and will be bright and comfortable teaching and learning environments.”
- The Honourable Darin King, Minister of Education

Schools to receive modular classrooms as the result of these tender awards are:

  • Beachy Cove Elementary, Portugal Cove-St. Philips;

  • Newtown Elementary, Mount Pearl;
  • Paradise Elementary, Paradise;
  • St. Bernard’s Elementary, Witless Bay; and
