Tender Awarded for Roofing Project at Bay d’Espoir Academy

North Shore Roofing Ltd. has been awarded a tender, valued at more than $121,200, to replace the roof at Bay d’Espoir Academy in Milltown.

This is one of six projects approved for the District of Fortune Bay - Cape La Hune as part of the Provincial Government’s 2014-15 repairs and maintenance program, including:

  • Electrical upgrades at Bay d’Espoir Academy;
  • Accessibility upgrades at Bay d’Espoir Academy;
  • Electrical upgrades at Fitzgerald Academy in English Harbour West;
  • Window replacements at King Academy in Harbour Breton; and
  • Window replacements at St. Stephen’s All Grade in Rencontre East.

Since 2004, more than $1.8 million has been invested in school infrastructure in the District of Fortune Bay - Cape La Hune, including roofing projects at John Watkins Academy in Hermitage, King Academy in Harbour Breton, St. Peter’s All-Grade in McCallum, St. Simon and St. Jude in Francois, and various interior and exterior improvements at these and other area schools.
