Media Advisory: Minister to Launch Phase II of Learning from the Start

The Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Education, will be at Hazelwood Elementary, 391 Topsail Road in St. John’s, tomorrow (Friday, March 28) to launch Phase II of the Provincial Government’s Early Childhood Learning Strategy, Learning from the Start. Minister Jackman will be joined by John Dinn, MHA for Kilbride.

Budget 2014 includes a second three-year commitment to Learning from the Start initiatives, including provisions for a universal, full-day Kindergarten program to be implemented in September 2016, and other enhanced learning opportunities for children from birth to age six.

The event takes place at the school’s learning resource centre, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
