Media Advisory: Minister to Mark Pink Shirt Day at Morris Academy

As part of Violence Awareness Week in schools, the Honourable Clyde Jackman, Minister of Education, will participate in a Pink Shirt Day event at Morris Academy, 52 Roosevelt Avenue, in Mount Pearl tomorrow (Wednesday, February 26), beginning at 1:30 p.m. Minister Jackman will be accompanied by the Honourable Steve Kent, Minister of Municipal and Intergovernmental Affairs and MHA for Mount Pearl North.

Minister Jackman will also use the opportunity to officially announce the 2013 winners of the Provincial Government’s Safe and Caring Schools Special Project Awards.

Since 2007, Pink Shirt Day has been held annually in many schools in Newfoundland and Labrador, across Canada and throughout the world to highlight and promote anti-bullying activities.
