Recreational Opportunities for Families and Communities Strengthened Through Investments
Funding Granted to St. Kevin’s High School for Green Space Development
St. Kevin’s High School has received $15,000 through the Community Capital Grants Program to assist with the costs associated with developing a new green space for recreational programming and physical activity for the coming year.
“Creating new areas for physical activity provides more opportunities for
residents of all ages, particularly children and youth, to enjoy outdoor
activities in a safe and welcoming environment. The $15,000 grant will
assist with the purchase of fencing, seeding and landscaping costs of the
new green space area that will be a benefit to all users.”
- The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation
St. Kevin’s High School is among the many community-based organizations, municipalities, schools, and recreation commissions that have received funding to upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure through these latest capital grant program investments.
“Several years ago, St. Kevin’s High School lost its green space when the
land it was on was sold for development. With this provincial grant of
$15,000, a new green space will be completed and ready next year for the
students and the community to use for their recreational needs."
- John Dinn, MHA for Kilbride
