Ladies Canada Games Basketball Team in Florida

The Ladies Canada Games Basketball Team will be travelling to Orlando, Florida this weekend to compete in the AAU Women’s Spring Fling II Tournament. The tournament is held at the prestigious Wide World of Sports Disney Complex in Florida. The team will face the Florida-SCBC on Friday at 5:30 p.m. NL time. Coaches Doug Partridge and Geoff Moore are using the event to prepare for the 2013 Canada Games scheduled for Sherbrook, Quebec this coming August.

Team members are: Jane Baird, Maria Carroll, Julie Croucher, Geana George, Stacey Leawood, Janet Lee, Jennifer MacDonald, Kelsey McGrath, Kelsey Moore, Brittany Rose, Rosie Stanoev, Sarah Tobin and alternate Abbie Meaney. Kimberlee Brophy is the team manager.

Play will commence on Friday, May 10 and will conclude Sunday, May 12 with the playoffs. The team will return to the province on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
