Minister Congratulates Jeremy Meuller on Winning Silver and Gold in South Korea

The Honourable Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, today extended congratulations to Jeremy Meuller of Torbay, on winning two medals in snowshoeing at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea this week.

“On behalf of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and as the Minister responsible for sport, I extend congratulations to Jeremy for his outstanding accomplishments,” said Minister French. “We are overwhelmed with pride for Jeremy and his family and we thank him for representing Newfoundland and Labrador.”

The Special Olympics World Games was an eight-day competition that brought together nearly 3,300 athletes from 112 countries. Jeremy was a tremendous athletic ambassador for the province and the country, as he won the gold medal in the 400 metre snowshoe finals, and also won a silver medal with his teammates in the 4x100 metre snowshoe relay.
