Public Advisory: Newfoundland Standard Time Returns this Weekend

Newfoundland Standard Time returns this Sunday, November 3, at 2:00 a.m. Residents of Newfoundland and Labrador are reminded to turn their clocks back one hour as a result. Standard time will remain in effect until Sunday, March 9, 2014.

When adjusting clocks, residents are also encouraged to take the opportunity to check the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. New smoke alarm regulations came into effect in 2012 that require each dwelling to have working smoke alarms on all levels and in all sleeping areas. More information on the new smoke alarm regulation, as well as other fire safety messages, can be found at www.gov.nl.ca/fes/
