$50,000 Investment Will Connect Entrepreneurs with Business Building Tools

The Entrepreneurs’ Forum will be in a better position to offer strategic business advice and connect local entrepreneurs with like-minded members of the business community as the result of a $50,000 investment from the Provincial Government. The Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, announced funding last evening at the annual Entrepreneurs’ Forum’s Newfoundland Showcase.

“For the last 21 years, Entrepreneurs’ Forum has been fostering the exchange of dynamic and smart business advice between experienced professionals and new and innovative companies,” said Minister Johnson. “I am pleased that with this $50,000 investment, a series of advisory sessions will be implemented over the coming year that will match advisors with entrepreneurs and provide business advice and skills development that will focus on the individual entrepreneur and their specific needs.”

Entrepreneurs’ Forum is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors representing a wide range of business experience and expertise. Advisory sessions will be free-of-cost to entrepreneurs and provide participants with business advice and guidance to mitigate business risk while increasing the number of meaningful contacts in their business and professional communities.

“Our core goal is to help entrepreneurs succeed,” said Kathleen Rayworth, Executive Director of Entrepreneurs’ Forum. “We want to be a facilitator of valued advice between experienced business people and new and growing entrepreneurs and we are that much closer to that goal as a result of this significant investment from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.”

Sessions will provide an opportunity for emerging entrepreneurs to connect with established members of the business community and receive strategic feedback, while also setting long-term goals and priorities for their businesses.

“I applaud Entrepreneurs’ Forum for understanding the diverse needs of entrepreneurs and making the exchange of strong tactical advice possible, something that is essential in various stages of establishing and growing an enterprise,” said Minister Johnson. “Entrepreneurs provide employment opportunities, build and sustain communities, and help fuel infrastructure improvements, all of which is made better and stronger with the support of organizations like this.”
